About the Animal Healing Institute

The Animal Healing Institute is dedicated to:

* the deep healing of animals and of our bond with them;
* helping people and animals to understand each other, their purpose together, and the gifts that each has to offer the other.
* fostering greater awareness of the true nature of animals and of the potential of our relationships with them;
* promoting the growth of Reiki for animals and of new paradigms of healing which take into account animals’ autonomy and their sentient, spiritual natures;

The approaches to healing used at AHI are all based on relating to animals as individuals, with sensitivity, respect, and understanding. Animals have their own wisdom about what needs healing for them and can participate meaningfully in developing an approach to healing that is best-suited to them. One of our goals in working with an animal is to establish a partnership with him in which he can become an active and willing partner in his own process of healing.

To us, a truly integrative approach to healing animals respects the wisdom and autonomy of animals and takes into account their knowledge and preferences in designing a program of program of treatment for them. The methods of healing that we use can all be adapted to address the needs and sensitivities of any animal, including wild animals.

About Elizabeth Fulton

Elizabeth Fulton is an animal communicator, author, and Reiki Master and has had a deep connection to animals all her life. She offers a combination of animal communication, Reiki healing, and flower essences to all species of animals and their human companions and teaches others to do this as well. She was one of the first people to have a Reiki practice devoted to animals and has given thousands of Reiki treatments to animals of all kinds, domestic, exotic, and wild. Using her background in psychotherapy, she provides support to the animal and his family throughout the healing process. As Elizabeth healed animals, the animals offered her many gifts in return and helped her re-connect with the ability to communicate with them that she had enjoyed as a child.

Elizabeth writes and speaks about animal communication, the nature and purpose of animals, the potential of the human/animal bond, and how animals can be active partners in the healing process. She is also dedicated to fostering the growth of Reiki for animals through her teaching, writing, speaking, and research activities. She is the co-author of the book, Animal Reiki: Using Energy to Heal the Animals in Your Life, which is available in bookstores and through online booksellers.

Elizabeth is a consultant to several zoos, sanctuaries and non-profit organizations dedicated to wild, exotic and endangered animals. She supports the important work they do in healing individual animals, holding a space for the survival of these remarkable beings, and strengthening our collective bond with them.

Elizabeth is an amateur wildlife photographer and enjoys walking and meditating in nature. She lives with her husband, daughter, and animal companions in the San Francisco Bay Area.
